Utilising water in an adaptable fashion
As well as all of the excellent environmentally sound reasons for the Tyram Lakes Hotel, Spa and Resort development, we should not ignore the exquisite architecture and design that makes this stunning resort so desirable.
By selecting Richard Coutts and BACA Architects, Tyram has chosen a practice with a global reputation in designing stunning schemes with integrated environmental landscapes and with specialism's in building on or near water.
With a pedigree of excellence in water-based architecture as well as delivering a flood resilience policy for the London Borough of Sutton, and planning principals for the government department, Defra, Richard is also a member of RIBA's Policy team for Defra's Core Cities Flood Advisory Group at Downing Street.
As Richard commented within his assessment of the development, "People are drawn to water for wellness and relaxation but the threat of flooding is an oft-ignored potential hindrance. The project at Tyram is an exemplar in both flood resilient and ecological design".
